This upcoming year may be just another year, or it may be one of the most significant years in human history (according to the Mayans and other ancient civilizations).  Regardless of outcome, I have decided the year 2012 is the year of progression.  Progression out of this era ruled by materials, greed, and selfishness.

I was personally guilty of the above.  For me, 2011 began my progression into a more humble spiritual awareness.  I had a very simple goal: Be the best man I can be.  And these guidelines helped me:

• Be honest with yourself and those you care about
• Be proud of who your are and what you do with your life.  If you are not, change your lifestyle or career to achieve this
• Invite love into your life
• Don’t allow fear to dictate your thoughts and emotions
• Have compassion for people and the mistakes they make, including yourself
• Trust yourself and the people you allow into your life
• Strive for perfection, but be humble and realize it is not achievable
• Do not dwell on the past and live with regret, you cannot change it – only learn from it
• Do not dream of the future – only planning and action today can help you achieve the future you want
• BE CLOSE WITH YOUR FAMILY – They are the one true constant throughout your entire life

And as we enter 2012, I strive to continue this path to, what I see as enlightenment.  Just in case 2012 is the end of the world, at least I’ll go out being the best man I can be!

Brad Meltzer’s show “Decoded” on the History Channel is pretty interesting.  I don’t watch it religiously, but I have seen a couple episodes.  With my obsession with 2012, I was sure to tune into the episode they did on the topic of 2012.  It was interesting and entertaining to say the least, but seemed to play up the fear factor in attempt to pull in the ratings.

The show touched on all the common topics that other shows and books have touched on:

• The potential threat of a solar flare shutting down our global infrastructure since the solar maximum happens to fall during 2012.
• The increased frequency of natural disasters with weather and seismic activity.
• The mass animal deaths taking place around the globe and changes in migration patterns due to climate changes forcing fish and land animals farther and farther north.

Occupy Wall Street

The ‘Occupy’ movement is intriguing.  The idea of social and economic equality is a continuation of equality movements that have spanned over the past 150 years.  I’m not writing this to argue and protest against The Man and corporate America playing a role into the toilet flush of the world economy.  Instead I want to discuss this movement in terms of this supposed ‘change’ that so many believe or have been talking about with the approaching magical date in 2012.

I’ve written about 2012 before, both debunking and informational posts on the many beliefs, facts, and theories behind it.  To say the least, I’m intrigued, but I wouldn’t go so far as to say I’m a hard core believer – especially when you get all into the alien and sci-fi aspect of it.  If I was to ‘believe’, then I would say my beliefs stem more from the theories of discovery and enlightenment of the Human race that are clearly around us all today.  The ‘Occupy’ movement, Human Genome Project and the advancements in the understanding of our genetics, the exponential advancement of our technology, and the unexplained occurrences: Massive animal deaths (as mapped on Google Maps), increase in major natural disasters (According to the EM-DAT, the total natural disasters reported each year has been steadily increasing in recent decades, from 78 in 1970 to 348 in 2004.), etc.

As far as the ‘Occupy’ movement, the huge global participation is directly attributed to today’s internet and technology.  The internet, in some respects, is the collective subconscious of this planet.  Never before has information been so easily distributed and readily consumed.  One could argue the increase of natural disasters is also a result of internet and technology – 1. We can now live in places never before habitable. 2. News of every natural disaster reaches millions.  So, it’s no surprise how the ‘Occupy’ phenomena has spread so quickly to 1500 cities worldwide.

Is the world finally becoming enlightened and demanding a global change?  Social and economic equality makes sense, but how can that be achieved?  Can the ‘Occupy’ movement really force global change?  All great questions that have yet to be answered. The timing is impeccable though with 2012 right around the corner when mentions from ancient civilizations, modern day spiritualists, and even scientists all theorize one similar concept: Change is upon us.

In 2008, I  followed this weird ‘internet phenomenon’ that built quite a buzz.  This of course is built upon the infamous December 21, 2012 hoopla.  Supposedly October 14^th, 2008, was supposed to play host of a visit by a 2,000 mile wide spacecraft (Roughly the size of the U.S. coast to coast).  Many people were claiming to have received messages from this alien race of the visit.  The story differed a bit as far as what/where/how it is to happen, but in general, most of the information was the same: they are said to first arrive in the Southern Hemisphere and circle the planet (will supposedly be over Alabama at some point) for about 3 days.  Here’s video from YouTube that explains what was supposed to happen:

It’s not just that video that exists either.  There are hundreds, maybe thousands of results you can pull up on a google search: UFO Federation of Light October 14, 2008.  Blogs, UFO sites, news sites; it’s all over the web.

This is just another example of the extraordinary viral power the internet has.  Traditional media was the means of spreading information for so many years, but the internet has transformed that.  Instead of a controlled means of distribution, the internet now can allow for massive belief in any occurance, no matter how far-fetched.

As the date December 21, 2012 rapidly approaches, there will most undoubtedly be more and more predictions, warnings, and general skepticism on what, if anything, will happen between now and then.  I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

I have seen shows on the predictions of Nostradamus, read about the end of the Mayan calendar, and of course we all know the Book of Revelations and the coming Apocalypse. But have you ever actually sat down on a computer and researched it? The internet…a whole world of information at your fingertips.

Well today, I had a conversation with someone who mentioned the date December 21, 2012. At first it was a little hard to swallow, but then I looked it up. Go ahead, google it. You will discover what I discovered…thousands of results. For those of you that don’t like to waste time researching, I’ll break it down for you as to some of what I read.

On December 21, 2012, the Mayan calendar expires. Why? It’s the end of a 26,000 year cycle. The Processional movement of the Winter Solstice Sun will gradually bring its position into alignment with the very center of our Galaxy(from our perspective here on Earth). For the Mayans, this is New Galactic Year of 26,000 solar years. The Galactic Clock will be at zero point and a New Processional Cycle will begin. 

Wait, do you understand how crazy of a thing we are all going to experience…OUR SUN WILL BE ALIGNED WITH THE CENTER OF THE GALAXY.. and it ONLY happens every 26,000 years!!! What fascinates me is that so many civilizations and even individual people have predicted some cataclysmic occurrence or change around this same time: December 21, 2012…oh, at 11:11am (universal time). What’s going to happen on this day? The truth is… no one really knows, but there are some other interesting things I found.

When looking deeper into the information out there, I found another interesting theory that correlates with the 2012 winter solstice. There is much evidence out there that suggests that time feels as if it’s speeding up; leading up to this date in 2012. Scientists discovered that Earth gives off a pulse, much like a heartbeat. That pulse, or frequency, for thousands of years was stable at 7.3 cycles per second. Well in 1980, that pulse changed. That pulse is now at 12 cycles per second (think frequency measurement in mhz). This increase of pulse may cause an effect on us that makes us feel as if time is going faster. And there is some speculation by scientists that once the Earth reaches 13 cps, it could stop rotating for 3 days, then, it will start rotating the other way. In addition, there is evidence that there a shift of the magnetic fields and the poles is occuring. This happens…yep, every 26,000 years. And that clock reset point was predicted to be on December 21, 2012 by civilizations that were never even close to each other.

Now is the time where myth and science collide. There’s so much speculation that everyone has as to what will happen on this day. Many believe that changes have already begun. Let’s begin with Humans. There seems to be a trend in this world with spiritual enlightenment. It’s as if we’ve all started to wake up and become more spiritually aware. There is speculation that this is directly correlated of us approaching this celestial moment – the rebirth. It is said that at one time, humans were all knowledgeable. They built great pyramids and could understand the universe and it’s relation to time and were able to devise  complex yet accurate calendars unlike any of our modern time. Then that all disappeared, or was forgotten. It was if our minds were sedated. Well December 21, 2012 is looked at as the rebirth of humans into this enlightenment. Therefore, some of us have begun to awake. The Bible calls it Judgment Day. The Hopi Indians see a purification of the Earth. Nostradamus saw a planet ending explosion (asteroid/comet, or great world war – interpretations vary). The Chinese “I Ching” civilization predicted the end of History. The prophecies of Saint Malachy predict we are currently in the presence of the final Pope. Edward Cayce predicts the return of Atlantis (said to exist back when humans were all knowledgeable). Albert Einstein predicts the Polar shift. NASA has confirmed the coming of solar storms. All sound like different occurrences, but all resulting in the same thing…a new beginning.

The cause of this enlightenment is speculated to be due to an energy source called a photon.  A photon is a bundle of light energy (I’m simplifying the definition). These bundles of joy travel at the speed of light freely throughout the universe. They have no mass, they are pure energy, but they can collide with molecules. Well it is said that as we approach this 26,000 “new year”, there is a growing amount of photons that are concentrated around our solar system. These photons are energy. If you were to stick a hair dryer while plugged in into a bathtub full of water with you, you would feel that energy. So it seems to me that if there was a growing amount of concentration of this light energy on this solar system, it’s most like going to have some effect on all things around it.

It doesn’t stop there. I also found theories explaining the occurrence of a passing from the 3^rd dimension into the 4^th dimension. In the fourth dimension is where we are said to be all knowledgable; able to view time as we’ve never seen it before.  Earth will still exist, but never as it has existed in our current reality. The bad and good karmic energy that our souls have created over the past 26,000 years will come back to us. Sounds like something that could have been described as The Rapture – the judgment of God. But in terms of what spiritualists speak on this subject, it is a judgment that is done by our physiological world. When switching over to the 4^th dimension, it is explained as existing in a different frequency. There will be certain beings, for lack of a better word of what humans may become, that cannot exist in that frequency. Therefore will not pass into the 4^th dimension.

Regardless if you’re a believer of some of the latter part of this blog, the overwhelming amount of information on the web and documented in history is, at the very least, somewhat intriguing. I don’t know about all the passing into the 4^th dimension, or return of Atlantis, but I do know that the fact that there is empirical data that states the facts that we will be experiencing some pretty amazing celestial events in the next coming years.  It does make me wonder what powers and energies exist out there in the universe that we have never seen before. The question, to me, is not if something weird is going to happen on that day, but more like what the f*&% is going to happen that day.
