December 21st, 2012: A 26,000 Year Event and the Theories Behind It

I have seen shows on the predictions of Nostradamus, read about the end of the Mayan calendar, and of course we all know the Book of Revelations and the coming Apocalypse. But have you ever actually sat down on a computer and researched it? The internet…a whole world of information at your fingertips.
Well today, I had a conversation with someone who mentioned the date December 21, 2012. At first it was a little hard to swallow, but then I looked it up. Go ahead, google it. You will discover what I discovered…thousands of results. For those of you that don’t like to waste time researching, I’ll break it down for you as to some of what I read.
On December 21, 2012, the Mayan calendar expires. Why? It’s the end of a 26,000 year cycle. The Processional movement of the Winter Solstice Sun will gradually bring its position into alignment with the very center of our Galaxy(from our perspective here on Earth). For the Mayans, this is New Galactic Year of 26,000 solar years. The Galactic Clock will be at zero point and a New Processional Cycle will begin. 
Wait, do you understand how crazy of a thing we are all going to experience…OUR SUN WILL BE ALIGNED WITH THE CENTER OF THE GALAXY.. and it ONLY happens every 26,000 years!!! What fascinates me is that so many civilizations and even individual people have predicted some cataclysmic occurrence or change around this same time: December 21, 2012…oh, at 11:11am (universal time). What’s going to happen on this day? The truth is… no one really knows, but there are some other interesting things I found.
When looking deeper into the information out there, I found another interesting theory that correlates with the 2012 winter solstice. There is much evidence out there that suggests that time feels as if it’s speeding up; leading up to this date in 2012. Scientists discovered that Earth gives off a pulse, much like a heartbeat. That pulse, or frequency, for thousands of years was stable at 7.3 cycles per second. Well in 1980, that pulse changed. That pulse is now at 12 cycles per second (think frequency measurement in mhz). This increase of pulse may cause an effect on us that makes us feel as if time is going faster. And there is some speculation by scientists that once the Earth reaches 13 cps, it could stop rotating for 3 days, then, it will start rotating the other way. In addition, there is evidence that there a shift of the magnetic fields and the poles is occuring. This happens…yep, every 26,000 years. And that clock reset point was predicted to be on December 21, 2012 by civilizations that were never even close to each other.
Now is the time where myth and science collide. There’s so much speculation that everyone has as to what will happen on this day. Many believe that changes have already begun. Let’s begin with Humans. There seems to be a trend in this world with spiritual enlightenment. It’s as if we’ve all started to wake up and become more spiritually aware. There is speculation that this is directly correlated of us approaching this celestial moment – the rebirth. It is said that at one time, humans were all knowledgeable. They built great pyramids and could understand the universe and it’s relation to time and were able to devise complex yet accurate calendars unlike any of our modern time. Then that all disappeared, or was forgotten. It was if our minds were sedated. Well December 21, 2012 is looked at as the rebirth of humans into this enlightenment. Therefore, some of us have begun to awake. The Bible calls it Judgment Day. The Hopi Indians see a purification of the Earth. Nostradamus saw a planet ending explosion (asteroid/comet, or great world war – interpretations vary). The Chinese “I Ching” civilization predicted the end of History. The prophecies of Saint Malachy predict we are currently in the presence of the final Pope. Edward Cayce predicts the return of Atlantis (said to exist back when humans were all knowledgeable). Albert Einstein predicts the Polar shift. NASA has confirmed the coming of solar storms. All sound like different occurrences, but all resulting in the same thing…a new beginning.
The cause of this enlightenment is speculated to be due to an energy source called a photon. A photon is a bundle of light energy (I’m simplifying the definition). These bundles of joy travel at the speed of light freely throughout the universe. They have no mass, they are pure energy, but they can collide with molecules. Well it is said that as we approach this 26,000 “new year”, there is a growing amount of photons that are concentrated around our solar system. These photons are energy. If you were to stick a hair dryer while plugged in into a bathtub full of water with you, you would feel that energy. So it seems to me that if there was a growing amount of concentration of this light energy on this solar system, it’s most like going to have some effect on all things around it.
It doesn’t stop there. I also found theories explaining the occurrence of a passing from the 3rd dimension into the 4th dimension. In the fourth dimension is where we are said to be all knowledgable; able to view time as we’ve never seen it before. Earth will still exist, but never as it has existed in our current reality. The bad and good karmic energy that our souls have created over the past 26,000 years will come back to us. Sounds like something that could have been described as The Rapture – the judgment of God. But in terms of what spiritualists speak on this subject, it is a judgment that is done by our physiological world. When switching over to the 4th dimension, it is explained as existing in a different frequency. There will be certain beings, for lack of a better word of what humans may become, that cannot exist in that frequency. Therefore will not pass into the 4th dimension.
Regardless if you’re a believer of some of the latter part of this blog, the overwhelming amount of information on the web and documented in history is, at the very least, somewhat intriguing. I don’t know about all the passing into the 4th dimension, or return of Atlantis, but I do know that the fact that there is empirical data that states the facts that we will be experiencing some pretty amazing celestial events in the next coming years. It does make me wonder what powers and energies exist out there in the universe that we have never seen before. The question, to me, is not if something weird is going to happen on that day, but more like what the f*&% is going to happen that day.

We learned about the switching of the magnetic poles in geology. You’re right in that it’s happened multiple times before- just read it in the rocks. What I AM skepticle about is that the earth will stop rotating for three days. It doesn’t make sense that the period of time would only be for three days. I think it’s scary to imagine what will go down :/. zombies..???

this is my thinking on the polarity shift of 2012. i personally think that the shift is already initiated, think about it, to me it seems evident that with our current economic melt down, some of those money-grubbin’-greedy-bastards who lost their asses to excess are to me proof in the pudding that it’s underway. as for the earth’s pulse rising to 13 cps causing our earthly globe to stop rotating for three days, i came up with a term years ago in a story i wrote, such an anomaly would cause a "gravitational push" cleansing our mother of everything not anchored down. when we all realize that are minds are not capable, due to our personal belief systems & unconscious prejudices, of conceiving how we got here & what our purpose is, i. e. religous zealots that seem to have eyes that can see just who all the sinners are. tolerance my people, tolerance. i refuse to believe in a fear based creator. love without boundries is essential so rest your weary heads & put your hate to bed.

Hi Luis -
This was an excellent explanation – thanks. I’m a screen writer and have been researching the 1212 prophecy for a new screenplay. I’m sure, like everyone else in the world I have a lot of friends who I’d consider New Age (which I’m not) and have heard brief descriptions of all this, but once I began reading more about it – it is interesting. A book that I found particularly good was "Fingerprints of the Gods."
Anyway, mostly I just wanted to say that I like the way that you write and appreciate you putting this out there in such an accessible way.

Global warming,polar shifts,solar flares. None of which seem very appealing. Believe in god? a god? or science? Me. I believe in science. we have been evolving on this planet for 500,000 + years that is going back to archaic homo sapiens. In that time we have passed this plane not every 26,000 years but instead every 13,000 years passing the plane on each end 26k being the whole 13k being the half and reversal of said polar shift or whatever they say is going to happen. Basically the gravitational forces from the center of our galaxy would be reversing is what all the hubbub boils down to.
So 500k years of evolution and in those 500k years this occurance at the 13k scale would have happened approximately 38.5 times. Guess what?! Were still here and still going strong so ask yourselves again what exactly will happen on December 21 2012?

Also to rebut marks remarks stonehenge was built in its earliest phases at best 3100 bc roughly 5100 years ago nowhere close to the 13k or 26k mark.
As for the first Pharaoh of egypt i know it was less then 11,000 years ago

Indian Yuga, a way of tracking Stellar Time. Lost Books of the Bible says this cycle is 8 thousand Years long. Hindu say the new age starts at the Autumn Equinox of 2449 A.D., if I have the date right.
All will happen long before this date so the dust will settle, changes made and the 1000 years of promised Peace will come, and" we will go forth like little children not knowing from where we came".

Im so freaking excited… most people I talk to just say the world is going to blow up or a comet… how do you convince them thats not true? You cant… you wait! Doing research for years ive run into a couple things but recently it seems to be that clarity is poping in and out and whatever it is thats going to happen is something good not bad… I wish more people could have an open mind…..The magic is there you cant look for it, you can only see it if you believe!… wonderful blog Im bookmarking you!

i searched sites like this saying that the sun will reach the center of da galaxy cuz meh friend said he read a documentury about it! I hope the world dosnt end in 2012 cuz i wanna die of old age and im only 10!!! I have lived a good life so far.

I had what some would call ‘visions’ and ‘spiritual enlightenment’, and let me tell you, its not like these hippies and new age guru scam artists make it seem. The process has got to be the most stressful, nightmarish hell ride you can imagine, anything else, murder, rape, gang related violence, serial killers and even new world order become insignificant. All I could think is, I never asked for this. I was even suicidal, but now…what can I tell you other than, symbolically speaking, everything looks like the end of The Matrix when Neo saw all the green text. It’s obviously NOT like that but the point is, if you can imagine that metaphor as your everyday perception then you have reached that level, and being "awakened" isn’t a garden of roses….

Hey there, I am only 16 so i’m not exactly thee best person to write about something so scientific and educational so bare with me. I find this article really educational and inspirational and I too have been researching this famous conspiracy. I recently have been studying the mayan calendar and how it ends on 2012 ; People believed this was the end of our world. Which actually is a fabrication of what the mayan beleived. This date to the Mayan was a celebration of a new age kinda like how we celebrate New Years. So really its not our world dying ; are world will still be there but it is a time of change. Now ofcourse no one knows exactly what will happen on 12/12/2012 at 11:11 (which is probably why us teenagers make wishes on 11:11) but this is just the way I see it.

a blessing to you all……………………..lets start this comment with a meditation..keeping the mind neutral……..now i'm going to intuit with my soul see what i come up with?????????
firstly i'm a true believer in The Most High, i may not call him god or all the other names but i believe in a energy stronger then mine. i think this because all you have to do is think about having intercourse and how the one sperm and egg makes a baby, and this all happens behind the scenes, and when you give birth, the feeling you get and what you see is over whelming, i also am a person who has alot of faith and i believe in life it self as well as believing in the most high, there are alot of things that i can't explain in so many words especially when you INTUIT,( INTUITION) but it never fails me!!! no one knows what will happen in 2012 just like any year, the diasters that will happen will be because of MAN MADE THINGS. other wise i do feel that something grand then we have ever experienced before is going to happen and i do think its to cleanse the earth, get rid of the corruption it has experienced picked up, just like a woman the earth needs a period too. us humans were once knowledgeable and lost it along the way, some say its because of EXTRA-TERESTRIALS (ALIEANS) WHY we no longer connect to the heavens and have become obsessed with tecnology, that only makes us happy for the moment who even knows what will happen when we die, who knows if there is a heaven and hell, who say's we are'nt living in hell, there are so many questions that are unanswered ones we all ask, but i've seen that life unfolds to us…………so if you believe and seek you will find, only thing is don't be scared we all have to die anyway, weatherits now or in 15yrs time thats the reality!!!!!!!!

The Bible states 140 times that the world will NOT end. (It will be the end of an AGE.)
These are the Latter Days (when Satan's spirit is at its strongest), and we better keep our souls "clean" because The Rapture is coming. Athiests, "luke warm" Christians, and those who reject Jesus will be left behind to suffer the most devastingly horrendous time the Earth has ever known. Jesus will allow his TRUE faithfuls to escape the reign of the anti-Christ. The Bible states that the anti-Christ cannot be revealed until "his time" (which I believe is after The Rapture") … and I believe this will happen BEFORE 12/21/12.
